HOW TO BEST MANAGE DRY EYE DISEASE?

(I-MED Pharma)

Don’t ignore your eye health.  Dry eye disease is a common condition that can affect anyone at any age.  It is more important than ever to make sure that you schedule routine eye exams to monitor your eye health and keep your eyes at their best.  If you experience dry eye symptoms, such as red, swollen, itchy, stinging, or burning eyes, seek the advice of your eye care professional and learn about the most effective dry eye solutions for your specific needs.

I-MED Pharma is proud to offer a wide range of products to help combat dry eyes and get you back in the game of life!

  • I-DROP® viscoadaptive, preservative-free artificial tears provide long-lasting relief and comfort to dry eye sufferers. They require fewer daily applications, which in turn reduces the cost of therapy for patients.  Find the one that best suits your unique symptoms. #I-DROP®PUR #I-DROP PUR GEL #I-DROP® MGD.
  • I-DEFENCE® is a long-lasting, lubricating ointment that delivers superior moisturizing and protection of the ocular surface. I-DEFENCE® is recommended for night-time use and acts as a barrier against moisture loss.
  • I-LID ’N LASH® ocular hygiene cleansers can be used as part of your daily hygiene regimen to help break the cycle of dry eye. I-LID ’N LASH® removes debris, reduces extra-ocular inflammation, and enhances the effectiveness of tear lubricants, such as I-DROP®.  It also doubles as a make-up remover, which is an added bonus.
  • I-RELIEFTM HOT & COLD THERAPY EYE MASK heats the eyelids to open the meibomian glands and allows the oils to flow onto the ocular surface, preventing tears from evaporating too quickly. Heating the eyelids with I-RELIEFTM liquefies these oils in obstructed and dysfunctional glands, which gets them working as they should.
  • I-VU® OMEGA-3 PLUS and I-VU® COMPLETE nutritional supplements are a good way to promote eye health from the inside-out. Studies have shown that fatty acids, lutein, and Vitamin D3 all have many beneficial qualities for the health of the eyes.

Take our dry eye test to rate the degree of your dry eye symptoms and learn more about your specific condition.

WHAT ELSE CAN BE DONE TO REDUCE THE CHANCES OF GETTING DRY EYES?

  • If you spend a lot of time in front of a computer screen, try taking breaks regularly and position your screen slightly below eye level so that you don’t have to open your eyes all the way to look at your screen. Decreasing the brightness of your monitor is also a good idea.
  • In winter, heating your house can make the air very dry, so use a humidifier to help add some moisture to the air.
  • A correlation has been established between wearing contact lenses and DED. You can give your eyes a break from contact lenses by taking them off when you get home from work instead of right before going to bed.
  • Avoid smoking and second-hand smoke, which can make dry eye symptoms worse.

When it comes to relieving dry eye symptoms, the consistency of treatment is key – stick to your regimen, and your eyes will soon be thanking you!
